Why I Wrote It

Most of my books have friendship at their heart. That’s because, as human beings, we are naturally social—and learning how to make and keep friends is something children should start from an early age.

Friendship is key to a child’s happiness, but making friends isn’t always easy. I wrote Let’s Be Friends to help children understand the value of friendship, and to show that friends don’t have to be just like us. In fact, having a friend who’s different can open up new perspectives and teach us the beauty of acceptance.
